Why doesn't the US Army have an auxiliary similar to that of the US Air Force Auxiliary/Civil Air Patrol and the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. The purpose of this group is to advocate for the establishment of a US Army Auxiliary organization, similar in scope and mission to the other service auxiliaries.

Welcome to the official page advocating for the establishment of the US Army Auxiliary – a forward-thinking initiative designed to bolster our nation's defense capabilities, foster community resilience, and cultivate civic engagement. Join us in supporting this visionary proposal to create a powerful auxiliary force dedicated to augmenting the United States Army and other military services.

Why We Need the US Army Auxiliary

In today's rapidly changing world, our military faces a multitude of challenges, from natural disasters to unconventional threats. The US Army Auxiliary is the answer to these challenges, providing trained civilian volunteers who stand ready to support our active-duty forces whenever and wherever they are needed. Here’s how the Auxiliary will make a difference:

  • Enhanced Readiness:
The Auxiliary will ensure the Army remains at peak readiness, capable of responding swiftly and efficiently to multiple, simultaneous crises. By integrating trained volunteers, the Army can maintain its operational tempo without overburdening its active-duty personnel.

  • Cost-Effective Solution:
Utilizing part-time volunteers reduces the financial strain on the defense budget. The Auxiliary offers a cost-effective way to increase manpower, ensuring optimal resource allocation and fiscal responsibility.

  • Community Engagement:
The Auxiliary fosters a sense of shared responsibility and civic duty among citizens, strengthening the bond between the military and the community. This engagement not only enhances national security but also builds resilient communities ready to face any challenge.

Our Vision

The US Army Auxiliary will be a dynamic force, composed of dedicated volunteers from diverse backgrounds, including veterans, retirees, and civilians without prior military service. Our members will wear uniforms similar to those of the US Army, with special insignia denoting their auxiliary status. Together with our Regular and Reserve Component Army partners, we will strive to be the best trained volunteer military in the world --- highly effective during normal operations and ready for emergencies.  We stand united in our commitment to serve and protect our nation.

Our Missions

As the program evolves, specific mission sets can be identified and integrated. Here are a few fundamental missions that the US Army Auxiliary would be equipped to undertake:

Military Support

  • Logistical Operations: Assisting in the transportation and distribution of supplies.

  • Training Exercises: Providing support during drills and simulations.

  • Security Details: Augmenting security teams during special events.

Community Service

  • Disaster Response and Recovery: Assisting with emergency medical care, search and rescue, and rebuilding efforts.

  • Community Outreach Programs: Engaging in public education and preparedness initiatives.

  • Local Infrastructure Support: Helping to maintain and improve community facilities.

US Army Auxiliary Cadet Program: Objectives and Benefits

Using the curriculum of the US Army JROTC and Civil Air Patrol Cadet Programs, The US Army Auxiliary Cadet Program will be designed to develop well-rounded young Americans through a variety of essential experiences and training:

  • Leadership Training
Cadets are taught to lead, manage projects, and think independently. They also have opportunities to mentor younger cadets, fostering leadership skills from an early age.

  • Emergency Preparedness and Response
Cadets gain knowledge in Emergency Preparedness, Emergency Management, and Emergency Response principles, understanding their societal impact.

  • Character Development
The program emphasizes the development of a strong ethical foundation and adherence to core values, helping cadets grow into responsible individuals.

  • Physical Fitness
Cadets are encouraged to be physically fit and develop a habit of regular exercise, promoting a healthy lifestyle.

  • Teamwork
Through various activities, cadets learn to work collaboratively and improve their communication skills, essential for team success.

  • Community Service
Cadets engage in public service at national, regional, state, and local levels, including career exploration experiences, fostering a spirit of community involvement.

  • Hands-On Learning
The program offers a range of practical activities such as land navigation, First Aid/CPR, drill and ceremonies, color guards, drill teams, hiking, camping, obstacle courses, and more, ensuring cadets acquire valuable skills through experiential learning. This comprehensive approach ensures that cadets are well-prepared to face various challenges and contribute positively to their communities.
